Info secretary, PFJA chief, discuss draft

LAHORE — Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) President Iqbal Yousufi Thursday called on Information Secretary and PTV chairman Syed Anwar Mahmood and discussed with him Press Council draft and the policy of issuing declaration.
According to a press release, the information secretary disclosed that Press Council's draft had been prepared and consent of both the parties had been acquired. Yousufi directed the attention of the information secretary towards the ills and consequences of the declaration's free policy. The information secretary assured to review the declaration policy.
Iqbal Yousufi further directed the attention of the PTV chairman towards the programmes broadcast on television whose sole aim was to spread despair and vulgarity in the society. The secretary said strict notice would be taken against such programmes and assured that now onward objective programmes would be broadcast on the television.
