THE PAKISTAN Freelance Journalists Association has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of the renowned journalist Mian Shafi (Meem Sheen).
The condolence meeting of the Association, convened on Saturday with Iqbal Yousufi in the chair, paid rich tribute to the services rendered by the departed soul for journalism. Fazl-ur-Rehman Naeem, Naeem Qureshi, Khalid Pervez Malik and Rehman Zulfi speaking on the occasion said that Mian Shafi was an important organ of the Pakistan’s Freedom Movement and that his services both for Pakistan and journalism will be hard to forget.
Prominent among the rest who also spoke on the occasion were Zafar Ali raja, Tahir Lahori, Neveed Bukhari, Ibrahim Tahir, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, Afaq Ali Khan, Idrees Usmani, Kamal Rizvi, Ahsan Bashir and Habibur Rehman Usmani. Later Fateha was offered for the departed soul. —PR
